Five Islands School has adopted Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) as the framework for behaviour management. Positive Behaviour for Learning is a whole school approach for creating a positive, safe and supportive school climate in which students can learn and develop. This approach involves the whole school community working together.
PBL is used consistently across the whole school ensuring that all staff have the same high expectations for each student. PBL also assists schools to teach students expected social behaviours. It ensures that all students have the social and emotional skills needed to succeed in school and beyond.
Each area of our school has expectations that are explicitly taught during assemblies and class times.
At Five Islands School our expectations are:
We are safe
We care
We learn
