Yoga

Five Islands School strives to create teaching and learning environments that enable students to be healthy, happy, engaged and successful. Our Wellbeing Yoga Program is run by a professional instructor which seeks to encourage self–expression and engagement amongst our students.

With the support from teachers and SLSO’s, students follow the movements from the instructor to the best of their ability. Yoga is a key component in developing our students physical and mental wellbeing. This includes the students strength, flexibility, relaxation skills, self-regulation, imagination, resilience, creativity, and communication. 

The benefits for our students participating in yoga include being actively connected to their learning, developing lifelong interests, having opportunities for them to build positive and respectful relationships with peers and staff and for them to experience a sense of belonging in their school.
